Green terror tolerance to heat and salt? (treating ich)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree it may not be ick, fish with ick usually flash, and there are plenty of other things that it could be that are "not" problematic.
I would still closely observe for flashing or if more spots occur, and the salt won't hurt.
Just in case its bacterial, i wouldn't hold temp too high too long. Normal river temps on the eastern side of the Andes are mid 70'sF.
Just curious, how long has the tank been up and running?

So here you can see the bump. If you look close at you fish you can see if it a ray break like I said. Just looks like a ball along the ray line. Here the best shot I could find of Hotlipz break.20180421_151546.jpg

Here is Toni when she had one.

Toni's has healed long ago, Hotlipz is almost fully healed just a spec anymore.

I noticed his colors are a lot darker and more "intense" now. Is this caused by the heat? Or by the salt?

I've had it for twelve years, but I resealed it a few months ago when I noticed a lot of air bubbles in the silicone, so now it's been running for close to three months with just plants and baby snails.

It does look a lot like what mine has!

In the confines of a tank, without treatment ick is pretty obvious, and spreads quickly.

By the way this fish was cured using only rock salt, and no extra heat.

below about two weeks into treatment with only salt

Well the one spot that is still there, I'm pretty much convinced now that it's not ich. But the other ones that appeared and disappeared quickly, what else could they be?

His fins have started regrowing, so there's some good news! Looks like my java ferns don't like the salt however, some leaves are turning brown...
