Are all the Oscar lovers forgetting that Oscars get mad and sulk? A big ole fish laying on his side at the bottom of the tank is not my idea of a cool fish. And why do they all eat their food like the cookie monster eats his cookies?

Does a Green Terror's colors get brighter and more attractive when they grow cuz all the ones ive seen around me are pretty dull
i've actually owned more green terrors than oscars, and had a nice breeding pair at one point.
if i could only have one though, the choice would be an oscar cichlid easily. GTs look really cool but don't have half the personality that an oscar does.

I keep both types of fish, if i had to keep only one species, I would choose the GT. Overall they require less maintenance and are better looking fish.
Oscar. GT's are nice, but they don't have half the personalties of oscars, don't get very big, are slow growers (especially compared to O's) and don't look as good. Also, most GT's I've ever seen are either scared of everything and hide a lot, or they are rediculously aggressive and constantly chase around any tankmates that are put with them (which I don't consider a good thing since I prefer to have community tanks rather than single specimen tanks). Oscars have great personalities, can get very large given the correct conditions, and can be put with just about anything that won't fit in their mouths ime.

Edit to say: Obviouisly the poll is pretty close. You probably won't be unhappy with either one, just get the one you like better.

Pretty close to my decision, obviously the growth rate of the oscar wins, personality wins but the looks of the green terror wins, and people say they can become just as personal with their owner..its like neck and neck haha
