oh dude i will take a photo of her tomorrow for you, please had you said an acara like Zach we could have a conversation but she isn't Green dont know havent seen a blue GREEN Terror in life or Photo, yours is a nice fish however, but yes she does look like that just not as well coloured atm

i"ll have a slice....no a spoonful, of that pie i mentioned. The mother is a blue acara.... i have never seen pics of them crossing tho i know it is quite possible. congrats... i will be 20%.... no, 12% more open minded from now on

hahaha i"m glad i account for a 12% change of view lol yeah i'm not sure about the blue acara bit though, i use a very reputable breeder but they are very hard to tell apart at the age i got my fish i guess, who knows either way they will be beautiful fish

What the heck are you talking about? You make no sense at all.

Those fish are the ones you posted 2 pages ago. The male is a Green terror and the female is clearly a blue acara, I could care less where you got it from, it is not a Jack Dempsey.

I have kept and bred Blue Acara and yes, they do hybridize with Green Terror as they come from the same genus, this is not uncommon at all, sorry to burst your bubble.

Just for reference here's my pair:

yeah you can trust this one here. I have been keeping blue acaras since i was 6 I am in the age range of 5x that. I grew up on an island near venezuela where i kept wild caught, proudly by myself, blue acaras and store bought ones. i have always kept some even when i migrated to the USA. i currently do not have any but this has only happened in the past two years sinced i moved to a small apartment. they are one of my personal favorite fish. top 5 for sure. what cacichlids say is absolutely true. that is a female blue acara. no ifs, and, or buts. i'm 100% positive about this ID

you are probably right i cant argue against it, i just won't concede that its 2 GT's which is the only reason i was arguing with water, as i said Blue Acara, JD what ever both beautiful blue speckled fish both will look amazing with a GT cross, would love to raise them all and keep the best but won't be able too. So hope fully the few i do pick will be the best ones.

yes it is not two GT, you are right. but just for the record, and to pass on knowledge to you my fellow GT lover. a GT cannot cross with a JD (jack Dempsey) or anything outside of its own genus. your fish can breed as they are a closely related species that belong to the same genus. congrats again and tell your breeder he gave you the wrong fish (accidentally).
