Green Terror

mine had internal parasite in my 75G and he was the first cichlid I bought for the tank, every fish outgrew him tenfold. He just hid all day so I moved himto my 10 gallon in my room to keep a better eye on him. He had parasites (white stringy poo) and he was about 2-2.5 inches. He looks to be approaching 3 now and his parasites are gone.

Have had him for at least 6 months and I plan to move him to my 29 once he gets a bit larger, then hopefully to my 75 one day.

Love the fish but terribly slow growers, specially compared to a Texas

1-1.5" would indicate that the fish is several months old.
Your GT seems to have a particulary slow growth rate but the 55G would not of stunted him., however putting him in a smaller tank promotes the stunting.

I do weekly water changes, sometimes a couple a week of at least 1/3 of the water, mainly because I know I'm overstalked. But like I said, I have moved him to a 10 gal by himself and he seems to be better now, too soon to notice growth but I'm watching. I feed him mostly flake but also some very sm cichlid pellets.

Put him back in the 30 by himself, feed him a quality food like Hikari Gold and do a good sized water change at least once a week. Be prepared to move him to a larger tank once his growth pics up.

I had mine in a similar setup to grow him out and he grew about 4" in 7 months.
