Was thinkin about getting a Green Terror for my 125. My brother is really interested in my oscar and was considering giving it to him and picking up a GT. I just have a few questions since i am not that familiar with a GT. Is there any way to sex them as juveniles ( i know it would be hard, but does anything give it away i was really looking at the males i think they are awesome). How fast do they grow? And do they act like oscars and beg for food or just naturally swim and eat? Thanks!

I have a pair its easy to tell male and female if they r over 2 inch ( well i can tell at 2 inch ) females r dark and males r really bright with nice coloration. And they dont get scared easily they'll try to get u but once they get used to u yeah they will follow u around for food. y dont u buy a pair??

I have a pair of Jack Dempsey's, and im not that familiar with GT's are they real skittish at first or quickly grow to know you like oscars?

If i do get one i want one with the orange fins, any way to tell which will have them as adults later on when they are still juveniles?

Mine was a retard and refused to eat. I had it for eight months and when it shrank from four inches down to two and a half inches, I returned it. Dumbest purchase ever. Hopefully yours does...more.

GTs are extremely slow growers. Had mine for about 10 months and I've hardly seen her grow an inch.

I might get a pair of GT's just dont wanna buy a bunch of juveniles and rehome them later, would like to snag a male and female right off the bat with the orange fins

Yes, find a hungry adult, at least 6". In my short time here, I've seen maybe two problems with adult GT's as opposed to, I don't know, about thirty threads about baby GT's (Gold Saum, usually) that stop eating, poo white stringy poo and do not respond to treatment. There is one pro who asserts the white muck is bacterial buildup in their digestive tract and he did successfully bring at least on GT around. But to me it's like buying an electric blue JD. Young=fragile adult=hardy.
