Bearding is the lines by the mouth. I agree male.
Is it a short body or is that just the angle?

It is not a short body may be due to angel.Actually it is not that big in size may be 5 inches

Can you guys suggest some good schooling fish that can live with green terror.I currently have tiger barbs with him but not sure for how long it will work.

Sounds more like female to me. Mine would change colors too, showing white lines on her sides and black marks under the eyes. We called it her warrior stripes because she would chase off everyone when she was getting ready to lay eggs. Try looking under its belly for an ovipositor.

Ovipositor????
How to identify from it
I got lucky having a male fish (blood parrot) to compare it to. Also she laid eggs and would guard them all day and flare at anyone who got close to the tank, so I knew for sure.

To me, it looks like a hole/rounded opening right under her belly in between the ventral fins and anal fin.

Tiger barbs work. So do larger tetras, giant danios, and rainbow fish.
