This guy is little....two inches. He's been about this big for 6 months though....

I feed him 2 times a day. He is in a 30 gallon tank with a brown pleco....nothing else.

I want him to GROW!

Yeah whats your water change schedule and how much at a time also what exactly are you feeding him. Another thing is GTs are one of the SLOWEST growing cichlids. Although sometimes you can get one that will grow up quickly.

Once a week, about 25 - 35 %. I have been feeding him New Life Spectrum, but I rarely see him eating when I feed. He likes to dig in the gravel for food.

Give him a variety of things. Also a high protein diet will improve his color and beef him up a little. As I said before he will grow but GT are slow growers. It takes them about 2 years to get 8" or so. As for food feed him some Hikari Bio-Gold along with the NLS, some small peices of krill and chopped up peices of earthworms. Feed him some peas as well to help cope with all the protein hes getting. Oh and if you want up your water changes to 2 a week.

Have you tried treating for parasites? I would do a prazi-pro treatment. I try to treat all my new fish with it, especially if they are wild.

Do 2 50% water changes a week, ideally you would do them daily for maximum growth results.
