Spot on except that the fish Jeff Rapps imported (and is selling right now) isn't actually the fish that was first described as A. rivulatus.

Just trying to clarify that. The fish that are floating around as "true" green terrors from spawns of the Jeff Rapps fish a few years ago are not, technically speaking, A. rivulatus.

Yes, they were imported under that name in the 70's and Rapps sold them as that and is doing so again right now, but it was discovered that a different fish has precedence to the name A. rivulatus.

It's all in the links I posted. Probably way more info than you wanted, but there ya go.
As far as I know, Rapps doesn't sell them under the name of Aequidens Rivulatus. He sells them as Aequidens sp. "Gold Saum". I actually just recieved one from him earlier this week. It did not say anywhere that is was the actual Aequidens Rivulatus anywhere when I bought it, just that it was what I described, and wild from Ecuador.

quote from his site -

pictured above: Aequidens rivulatus - very rare in the trade - F1 juveniles of the true 'green terror' from highland river habitats in Peru ready to go!

And price list-

Aequidens rivulatus 1” 15.00 rare! F1 true ‘green terror’- Peru highland river, white trimmed speciesgorgeous F1 adults with incredible color!

The true GT's are from Peru, while the fish described as A. rivulatus is from Ecuador.

"Aequidens" rivulatus was described by Günther in 1859. The fish comes from western Ecuador and has been found and collected in Rio Esmeralda and tributaries, and rivers north of Rio Esmeraldas. At least up to Rio Cayapas, Rio Sapayensis, and Rio Santiago. Material from these places label as "Aequidens" sapayensis is probably synonym to "Aequidens" rivulatus. How far north into Colombia the fish goes need further investigation. I did collect this fish first time in 1987 in a small stream about 23 km west of Quininde (Rosa Zarate) in Ecuador. Material was given to Nat. Hist. Mus. Stockholm, Sweden. And Dr. Kullander compare this material with Günthers material in London and he said that the fishes I had collected near Quininde was the true "Aequidens" rivulatus.

That's why common names suck so badly. We have at least 3 different specie, maybe more, that go by the market name green terror. I keep waiting for a paper to come out and describe these guys, but nothing yet.

I searched google image at these as juveniles and mine has more color or I can't find an identical one and most the time I can... Was just wondering if this is even a green terror? And male or female I'm guessing male and only 2 or so inches

Clearly this is a Norwegian Frost Blue Labiatus. Distant cousin of the Peruvian Green Terror. Duh...
