  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What I can tell you is there gold saums not the true green terror (andinoacara stalsbergi) but there is also silver saums and red saums there very cool as for sexing venting would be the only way to sex them right now or you could wait about 3 months

Silver, gold, red. They are all true green terrors Just different location/color sp variants of Andinoacara Rivulatus all of them along with Andinoacara Stalsbergi are of the genus Aequidens.

The difference with Andinoacara Stalsbergi is they would be the fish originally named Green Terror. They also have a much more aggressive attitude and thus where the terror part of their name came from as well as their reputation upholds the name.

But all of them are Green Terror

The ones the op has are still to small to sex. The only way to 100% confirm is to give them time to grow and vent them.

Again...not to repeat myself...but one of them has sunken gut. Pretty typical of a gt that has or had internal parasites.

Treat with Epsom salt soaked food.

Seedubs is correct. I'm using mobile version today and not always do every picture show. This time it pulled them up.

I too recommend if the fish is eating, soak the food in epsom salt and api general cure. Soak it for about 30 minutes then feed. The Epsom acts as a laxative helping purge the parasites and the general cure has metro and prazi to kill the parasites. I've always had fantastic results. You could also dose the water with Epsom salt at 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons.

Ya know, I do not say this very often, but these green terrors really are probably too young to identify their gender accurately. You can try posting pictures of them when they are comfortable in the aquarium to help them color up a little bit, but until then, they really might likely be too young. They kind of appear female right now, but when they are stressed in the bags still and bring that young, identification tends to be difficult so do not take my diagnosis very seriously. :) Again, perhaps try posting more pictures. You also should consider everyone's idea if the potential for internal parasites because at least one of them does appear to have a sunken belly. Cool green terrors though!

Thanks for the heads up on the sunken belly...I'll pick up some general cure today. They're all eating with no problem so I'll start prepping the food with e.salt too...and I'll give them a couple of months to grow before I really concentrate on sexing them. Thanks again everyone!!!vlcsnap-2013-08-17-22h27m20s209.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-18-07h12m43s116.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-17-22h29m16s96.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-17-22h30m03s53.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-18-07h12m23s175.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-18-07h12m24s182.pngvlcsnap-2013-08-17-22h29m02s209.png

i have 2 green terrors that we had trouble sexing until one day the forehead humps came out. i though for sure i had a M and a F, now i have 2 M. good luck with them and please post pics as they grow. GTs are great fish to watch grow because of how color comes in.

Just an update...
They've recovered from the sunken bellies (after general cure & e.salt) & have been moved my 100 gallon.
