can i house one in the following tank?
55gal

2 convicts
1 burmese loach
4 zebra danios
6 tetras

could i put a pair of terrors in at 1.5 to 2"?

thanks

i'm no expert but i don't think those danios would have much of a chance.. tetras i guess it depends what kind but probably the same thing, I don't think longterm you could keep a pair in that tank but if it was just the convict pair the loach and one GT i think it'd be okay as long as you moved the convicts to a 20 long or a 29 when the GT starts getting big... anybody out there feel free to correct me if im wrong but from the research i've done thats about what I think

They kill small fish, sometimes, cause mine don't even eat feeder fish.
To other cichlids they are mostly territorial. So when a GT kills another cichlid 9 out of 10 times it's because the tank is too small.

@ LoganBlade In the 55 like you mentioned things get ugly. A full grown GT needs a 75 for himself.

No your convicts would likely tear the GT's apart. When GT's are young they are easily bullied and it isn't until they begin to get some size on them that they show their true nature. if the cons are a pair then it will be hell for any other cichlid in a 55g.

A 55g will be ok for only a pair of GT's and a couple of bristlenose plecos (or other small plecos) short term, you really need to get a 75g because of the larger footprint of the tank. A male GT can hit 12"+, nearly as wide as a 55g.

Your danios and tetras (depending on type) would likely be destroyed by a pair of GT's and convicts anyway. Your loach should really be in a group of 4+ as well for it to thrive.

Get rid of the cons and the pair of terrors should be alright in the 55. A single terror would be alright in a 55 for life. I've kept a terror alone in a 50 breeder with 6 giant danios and a large common pleco for 2 years without any promblems. I bought some redhooks and put them in there so I sold the terror to my lfs for trade. Mine was actually kind of mellow although he would lounge at the danios every now and then.

each one is different as per most large cichlids. Some can be pussycats and some can be psychotic.
Agree with this bro. My Green Terrors are on a community tank and they chase any fish that strays into their comfort zones - one way I keep changing layout of tank to ensure that is minimal.
