Green Texas growth and behavior

I think part of the issue could also be the tank location in my house. I may move his tank out to the garage away from me and anyone else.

How much does water temperature play into growth? I know Texas can withstand lower temps than most correct?

If you think the fish is to shy you can try convicts as dithers
I have tried putting a GT in with him and he just won't give up on going after it. I would feel bad putting a convict in there for him to chase.

There is 7 danios in with him, but he tolerates them, i dont think he could catch them

He could catch the danios at night if he wanted to. Convicts are hard core survivors man . Put 3 in there with him and see what happens. Might make him feel more secure

Really? Its funny you suggest that because there is a guy selling off all his convicts here locally

Someone is always trying to unload convicts all the time no matter where you are. They are... prolific. :D

Indeed, that's how I got my little miscreants. There's an adoption tank at our local PetCo and the fish department guy sold them to me for 25 cents apiece just to make them go away.

Yesterday I decided to try putting the Texas in the 120gal w/ my Oscar. The Texas did very well with a previous Oscar so I thought I would give this a shot.

So far the O has chased him a bit, and a few times they met face to face but the Texas is much smaller and took off. Today the Texas has been swimming around with relatively no issues but I have noticed one thing.......

My Oscar has gone nuclear on me. He relentlessly attacks the glass when I'm near, won't eat, and just splashed a half a gallon of water out onto the wall and floor.

Needless to say he is pissed. But he is not taking it out on the Texas. Should i give it a couple days to see if he chills? The Texas seems so much better in this situation, swims around entire tank, only hides if the O chases him which is becoming less frequent
