Green Texas Qs

a 75G should be fine IMO although ive found they are very slow growers.

If I don't try and do a pair, should I try to keep another species of cichlid with a male carpintis? I was thinking about a salvini.

I'd recommend at least a 125g for a pair, they'll kill each other in a 75.(unless you have a partial divider)
Same care and growth rate as most SA/CA's, they're more difficult when small compared to most other cichlids though.
In that size, I'd try a solo male. A salvini may or may not work, depends on the fish....
