its most likely from sunlight, but im not going to be able to change the location of the tank so im going to have to work around it best i can.

I'd be willing to bet that they sell blinds in NY

But, seriously, that would totally be fixed with a UV... although, you do need to pinpoint the cause of your algae bloom. Check your water parameters and even see about reducing your phosphates.

Good point Peter....it needs light And nutrients therefore it could be phosphate or nitrate and you can test for both.

+1 tmc units are good, i also have a sunsun which does the job in my 90gal
