  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you could try fishing the dottyback out,
i tried it when i needed to get my pair out of the tank,
it ALMOST worked, but they'd manage to shake free and quickly learned to stay away from the shrimp

I thought you were talking about a anarrhicthys ocellatus. Lol, I was thinking what the heck are you doing with a pair of those.

Lol, especially in a 55;)

Well i finally got it last night. Im sitting here chasing this thing with a net. Nearly impossible. Then my girlfriend was like why dont you stick some food in the ball. Well as the plankton started to unthaw the female eel quickly learned how to get to the source and went right in, so i flipped it over quick threw on the cap and wal ah.

Then i couldnt find the male. I was like crap, did she already kill him? I finally found him living on the drip plate for the bio-balls. Fished him out and put him back in the tank. of course he disappeared because im sure he thought he was going to get his head chomped.

Hopefully he will not be so timid once he realizes there is no threat. Then they get busy ;)

Thanks for everyones help!

Wait a second.. Are you talking about with a hook?

nope, just meat on a string and while you have the fish at the water surface, scoop in with the net
i sewed some thread through a piece of shrimp

that makes sense. Im a little foggy this morning, so immediately i was like how the hell do you get it off the hook ;)

So good news. Since the female has been quarantined the male has started to come out more. I havent seen him eat yet, but i think its just a matter of time.
