This species I've kept gets around 30 mm, or 1.2 inches. BTW, they're not as parasitic as Vandellia and other obligate blood-eaters... It's more an opportunistic feeder. Oh, and it's great to be able to catch some interesting fishes.

You BEST be keepin some pike cichlids bro! Your in the prime Crenicichla hot zone! If you don't have any pikes I am gonna be sorely disappointed.... What about Hoplarchus psittacus? Geez, if i lived where you do i would have a lot more than just four of them!

I have a pike... A juvie Xingu I. Not much space for pikes with my RTC x TSN cat. It likes to eat anything easily swallowed. Pikes included.
