*Grooming Flowerhorn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here soon ill be building my fish houses on my new property. Ill have a ton of room and a bunch of tanks and ill document some experiments :) similar fish from same batch for most accurate result. Should be fun!

Definitely, that would be very interesting. Many just have one or two fish, they get some food, bump temperature, see the fish growing and then think food did it. You would have very good data set with multiple fish.

So since we are all on the subject of grooming, what should I use if I want to boost the amount of red color in a FH? Or the over all intensity of the pearls? I mainly ask because I would like to bring my lil lady here to a competition at some point but I feel like she is lacking in some areas. This is the FH I'm talking about, she's a bit of a runt so anyway to boost growth rate would also be appreciated.

For food for color I would say get NLS UltraRed and for pearls algaemax.

Few flowerhorns get along with parrots, few don't. People add parrot for few minutes (25-30) every day as a punching bag for the fish. If your parrot is bullied by flowerhorn then it's not fair to the parrot.
thanks alot. Searching for a suitable tank mate for him\her. He tolerates the parrot. I heard that serivum is a good tankmate but kinda expensive to experiment with.

If your flowerhorn is aggressive then it's better to leave him alone in the tank, brings out personality a little better as well. If you want tankmates then try more than one in large tank so aggression would spread across.
