Group of male apistos?

Can you keep a few single specimens of male apistos together? If so how many might work well in a 55 gallon tank with some tetras?

Apistogramma are territorial so possibly 3 males wouldn’t do more.

I wouldn't do 3 males. I've have a pair of macmasteri with a single male cacatuoide apisto in a 75 gallon and that single male would chase and harass the macmasteri pair.


I would do a pair of a single species and load up small tetra or small group of angels.
