yes a baby 2-4 inch would fit in the 45 gallon no problem.... then the 75 gallon would last a long time. Id say atleast 8inch in the 75 gal.

the problem with groupers is they grow so damn fast and i have always liked big fish so i bought a 480 gallon tank thats 8 feet long and 4 feet wide . i bought my louti grouper in march 0f 09 at 10 inches and is now pushing 18 . my bb grouper is around 10 inches and in a 125 gallon because they do not like each other . not sure what i am going to do with the bb grouper because he will outgrow the 125 within a year . i recomend a v tail or a black spotted grouper they get about 12 inches max and act the same as any other grouper . they just want to eat lol . i think a my louti will be fine for life in the 480 but the poor bb groupers i imagine eventually get screwed . also all groupers seem to like a cave so that takes up alot of swim space but i think is needed . also the big ones are hard to find homes for if you have to shut your tank down for some unseen reason . heres pics of my louti and the last one is what i could take of my bb grouper i just fed him an hour ago so he was not wanting to leave his cave

with all the great grouper out there I can't really pick but they need massive tanks even the smaller ones appreciate a tank that is 100 gallons more then they usually recommend at LFS
