Growing Fry

IMO the tank is way too small. I tried doing a couple hundred angel fry in a 55 once and they basically quit growing after dime size, even with daily water changes of 200% (100% in the AM and PM) and tons of food. My biologist friend speculated that many growing fish could have been depleting the water of the minerals and trace elements needed for bone development and growth. I never could prove that, but it's an interesting theory.

If you have extra tanks, I'd break them up into smaller groups. Continue with the frequent feedings and large water changes. I have 30 severums in a 55 right now at about 1.5" and they are fighting like crazy. This may be something you want to look out for as they grow. They'll be a bit rough on each other in cramped quarters.

They do sound a little small for their age -- these severums just hit 2 months and they're almost 2".
