He seems like a very hardy fish and was an extremely fast grower for the first few months. Just keep clean water parameters and give him a good diet.

so wats their diet..? i gave them mealworm n frys..i intend to put it together with red aro..tiger solvenose catfish..stingray..bichir n lungfish... any prob? it looks mean..dunno will harm my other tankmates... at the moment his size ard 30cm+... still staying alone in my fren's petshop...

Is it for sure a tropical gar, or another species? We feed ours smelt, shrimp, and pellets for the most past. Nothing live. How big are your other fish? If they are not small enough for him to eat, he prob. won't bother them at all. The lungfish and shovelnose will outgrow the gar (and possibly your other tankmates) and could eat them.

at d moment...my super red aro length already 45cm...tiger solvernose grown super fast...i think ard 40cm...stingray 8"...albino bichir 7" & african lungfish ard 30cm...all lived in 6' x 2'6" x 2'6'' tank...
