Growing on baby cuban cichlids quickly

For faster growth feed at least 4 times a day at smaller amounts. Don't feed them only once or twice a day to the point they look like they will explode, as this sometimes leads to bloat in several species.
I always fast my fish at least once a week to clean out their system.

One of the slowest growing fish I have ever owned. Best thing for growth isn't food...it's big frequent water changes and a varied diet. Make sure to include some kind of veggie in their diet. They are prone to bloat.

Great fish. Enjoy.

I got three on 11/29/07 at 1.5" each, they are now 2.5"-3". These guys are gaining size faster than my parachromis of the same size in the same tank. I have them in a 55 gallon tank and I feed them 4-5 times a day. I started with frozen redworms for the first week, then added frozen brine shrimp to their diet. I really noticed growth after the brine shrimp. It is expensive, but you'll see a difference.
I started including hikari gold mini pellets last week and they love them. I do a 25% water change 2x a week and keep the temperature between 82-84. I also have a good filter in the tank that keeps the water pretty clean. Good luck!
