Growing out an Umbee

your growouts look great! that little umbee seem will be a stunner can see his freckles coming out 
Great pics and really nice specimen! How long did it take to reach 3.5"? I am saving up for a D90 as well

Justin, it actually grew about the same rate as my Grammodes, which i think says it all. However, he seems to be picking up speed now, and starting to bulk up more.
I would say it took about 4 months to grow from .75" to 3.5", with 0 nitrates and high protein & lipid acid feeds. (Mealworms etc.) So not the fastest i've kept, which surprised me alot, considering the maximum size of these beasts.
But he is already the fish that interacts the most with me. About the same as Midas' temperament i'd say. So he is just a pure joy growing out, reguardless of how long it takes. So definatly get one or a pair if you can mate. They are really awesome fish. My favorite already out of all the fish i've kept so far.
