Growing Out My Green Terror

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When I got mine he was around 2 inches. I've had him for just over 2 months and he's now just over 3 inches. I keep up on the water changes and feed a lot of different foods. Hikari bio gold is my stable, then I use Hikari cichlid excel as gt's eat greens too. I feed frozen blood worms twice a week as well as live crickets and mosquito fish. But I only feed once or twice a day. Already his colors have changed from the camo color to a bright green with little blue speckles in his fins. Gt's grow slow for cichlids but keep up with good food and most importantly keep the stress down. I stunted my other gt by allowing my jack Dempsey to harass her for months. They finally worked it out and she is growing again but now she is over a year old and is only 4 inches... Good luck gt's are awesome fish!

Great info. I have a GT I'm my tank. He's about 3.5inches now. Feed him flake shrimp and blood worms. As I vary his diet

Are you sure you have a male? The black band in the face suggests you may have a female. Either way, it's coloring up nicely.

I actually have no idea, I always refer to my fish as 'he' when I don't know the sex. Was hoping for a male though.

good luck this is my GT
