Growing out this Carpintis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks Jake I've been laying low and trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my tanks. You know how it is a few years your digging this type of fish and then you wake up one morning and want to blow everything up. But those Cubans are looking nice and that Texas is probable one of the best I have ever seen.

oh. Alright I''ll start feeding less protein then. Been feeding my Syn lots of Massivore mostly just to see what a single brand does.

Can you post more pictures of this blue texas?

Here are some pics of both the male and female. The female is the one in th tank with the black background...and fighting with my male Jag.

Just wanted to give an update. Yesterday I removed all fish from the tank, completely rearranged the "furniture" to hopefully start the fish in a neutral tank and put both the female and male together. Male is 9" now and female is 10 1/2". I was hoping they'd be able to pair up but it wasnt happening. The male eventually stomped a mudhole in the female so this morning he wasnt letting up on his aggression, so I moved him to my 240. The female and the hartwegi pair now have the run of the 135 while the male Carpintis puts on a little more size in the 240. Here's some pics of their initial introduction

I actually have his sister who is a bit larger than him in my 240 but I have no desire to put them together again. I originally separated them because I was worried they might try to breed.
I might eventually try to breed him if I can find an unrelated female but probably not for a couple years at least.

Lol I thought u were going to breed them. It could work, but I wouldnt do it. Good thing you seperated them though. Hes going to have some nice babies with whoever you choose.

he's almost there bro. Maybe another half year ith more feeding to him and less feeding to her.

If that female continues to lay, she will lay some good size eggs and a lot.
