Easy, just start them in the house and when it quits frosting plant em outside... really a low maintenance plant. they usually out compete weeds but you should still keep the weeds out of the garden..
I got about 6 varieties growing. I put my first round outside today to harden off. Also got peppers, basil, litchi tomato (not a real tomato), lots of other herbs too. I put some sunchokes, yacon, and turmeric on the ground already. Melons and cucumbers will be planted in May. Got a few fruit trees, peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, leeks, chamomile, carrots and other perennial herbs already growing.
