Alright, so I have two baby channel cats, one blue and one albino. I've been feeding them shrimp pellets and cut up silver sides, and they eat really well, but they dont seem to be growing very fast, and I've heard that channels have a pretty fast growth rate.

What do ya'll feed your channels, and how fast have you seen them grow?

how big are they now? once they hit a certain size, they will hit a growth spurt.

The blue is probably around 3.5" and the albino is 2-2.5"

I feed mine blood worms and shrimp pellets..... not much growth so far... still about an inch and a half.

They'll hit a growth spurt IME around 4" or so and get to 8" pretty quickly, then start to get thicker.

My guy went from this tiny 2.5" with no barbells or fins at the lfs to his current 26" in just 1.5 years. As for food, I let him gorge on bloodworms at first, and didn't even expect him to make it, but after 2 months they started to grow, and reached 12" within 6 months, from there it took till now to grow the surviving one to 26". The other one was bit in half by my old Jau. he ate it all but the head. I feed him mainly shrimp, hotdogs, fish fillets, and large cichlid pellets. He'll also catch bugs that I throw in. I feed him every day. He's really thick, and missing one of his pectoral fin spines where the jau tried to get him too, but he left the jau with a painful reminder of who he is!:headbang2

The fish pictured never stops swimming. He's crazy. Only fish that I have that swim as much as him are my IDs, and even they rest on the bottom some, this guy never stops.

What an awesome channel necro! He's so stocky! Hope mine gets that big.
Thanks for all the great info
