Growing up Channel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just picked up a baby Albino a few minutes ago. I can't turn off the flash on the cam. so I may have to post pics. of the little fella once he is in the pond.

I can't wait till mine grows, I've been thinking about getting another from my lfs thats around 14"
Would love to see some other peoples channels

and good luck with your new channel muske!

Thanks...

He ate a piece of worm while sitting in a little QT bath. He is now in the pond and seems to think he is a goldfish. Schooling and digging around w/them.

Very cool! My blue ate the one goldfish I had in the tank with him I got from a wedding... didn't intend it as a feeder and thought it'd be too big for him... guess i was wrong! haha
But the have awesome personalities huh?

Hope mine grows that big so i can eat him!

ROFL, If that's your logic, I'll save your wallet some serious emptiness. Wal-Mart always has farm raised catfish for less than 5 bucks a pound. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm...

His personality hasn't come through yet. I spoke to a guy that has one that is 3' long and 8-9 years old. Raised in his pond w/Koi and Goldfish and is now his fav. fish. I hope none of my goldfish get picked off, but if he takes a sick or injured one here and there, no big deal. I just want to see a Big A Moby come up through the lilly pads and feed at the surface.

That will be very cool! Can't wait to have my outdoor pond built. I'm planning on my putting my blue outside, and my albino in my indoor when they get bigger.

i live in mass where can i get channel cats
A lot of fish stores carry them, but if you can find a fish hatchery near you that does retail, you should be able to find them much cheaper. My LFS sells the normal "blue" ones for like $4 and the same size at the hatchery I worked at are $.33.
