So if you remember a while back I purchased a poly that was listed as "Bicher Unknown" by the store. He's now grown to about 4" or so and is a little beast. It's about time to release him into the big tank with the others. But I still don't know what it is?! Originally guesses were Lap, Endli or Lap x endli. Since then I've been told everything from Endli x ansorgii to Congi x Lap. Anyone have any guesses? Looked very Lap-ish as a baby but is starting to show more and more vertical bands. I've included a bunch of pictures throughout its development from day 1 in the barebottom to present in the fully planted growout.

One unique poly, i kinda understand why some will say congixlap cause of how thin the vertical patterns, but i still think its endlixlap, but that is just my opinion, i might be wrong.

Growing like a beast tho;)

Pattern looks kinda like my old endlis. It's just thinner pattern and more pale. But headshape/face pattern reminds me of my old ansorgiixendli hybrids. still can't tell what your fish is though. :) Could be a hybrid. Hard to say now a days.

Hao Hao the head shape is what is throwing me off so much.

The pattern is so odd I don't know what to compare to it. The head is nothing like my cb endli. Very long, flattened and slightly "spoon" shaped. I could see ansorgii with the head and jaw structure. Also has very dark lateral stripes from the eyes down the back when it darkens up almost koliba or PBB like. Confusing little guy

Im excited to see how it continues to develop. might move it to the big tank tomorrow, hopefully the others play nice! im a little nervous after my endli decided to exterminate the kuhli loach cleanup crew that was still in the tank from when it was used for rainbowfish breeding

How big are the loach compared to the endli?
 
Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 they were about 3" and a lot thinner. This guy is maybe 4.25" and much bulkier so I'm hoping he's okay. The endli is only 5.5 but used the kuhli's like chew toys

IMG_8207.JPG The endli and one of his chew toys.. was kind of cool to see him deathroll with them though. Sad to lose them. They were some of the last original inhabitants of the tank from when it was first setup a few years ago. Hardly ever saw them since they spent most of their time buried. He must have dug them up to "play"
