How fast will an asiatica grow
also what size will it grow to in a 48L x 18H x 12W tank
 
does anyone know this
 
Channa Asiatica (sold in the uk as Chinese snakehead) the books say they get to 20cm but 30-32 is more like it 12-14” the old myth of the fish will only grow to the size of the tank is well a myth so I would say 12-14”

hi ya stotty ,,are there any more channas with a max size that is different from the book (aqualog,all labyinths):)

There quite good on the whole the Aqualog book is a good reference but the problem with SH there can be so many colour morphs and the juveniles are so different from the adults it can get a little confusing but I always recommend the book as its about the most readily available book in the UK for snakehead reference.

yep i cant believe there is not a book dedicated to snakeheads, im sure it would make some one a few bob or a bit more,,,go ahead stotty its your big chance:naughty:
 
thanks for the size but i wht to know how quick they grow
 
as snakeheads go they are quite slow,,,haveing said that it depends on
the feeding routine,what you feed ,warter quaity,fillteration,,,basicly i think it is down to the health of the indevidual fish,,eg i have four mud skipers all are fully grown but one is half the size of the others
