Growth of JD?

when I try to feed him worms, he looks the other way... in fact I dont see him eat very often because he is so shy. He isn't picked on, but he also isnt the alpha fish in the tank.

My GT did that too. Cut them up. IN 2 or 3 pcs. Once they taste it or smell it they'll eat it

well my jack is about a year and a half old and maxed out at 7 inches its a female to so i think shes done growing but males tend to max out at around 8 to 9 inches 10 inches kinda rare

He is most likely a she. Can you post a pic, specifically of her gill plates?

He's not gonna reach 10" in aq year, this isn't an oscar or rd. It takes years, most ca cichlids take 3 years or more to reach "full" size.

u cant rush the growth of a fish but if u had him for a year and he still has not grown by some food that will give the jd a growth boost like krill

would shrimp work? such as thawed frozen shrimp that you can find in Safeway?
