i know its been asked a lot but i dont understand i recent well not really recent but i've had my oscar for about.. 3 months maybe? but it doesnt seem to be growing.. well kinda.. but slowly maybe like .5cm at the MOST a month iam i doing something wrong? water changes once a week feeding twice a day?

What size tank? Tankmates? Filtration? What size was it when you got it and what size is it now?
Might as well give as much info as you can. Hopefully some of the more seasoned can help.

55 gallon tank with red devil and gt thats about it im in the works of cycling a 125 gallon tank its gonna be sweet ass

the devil is probably like 11 inchs maybe, gt is around same size as the oscar probably about 4-5 inchs feeding = twice a day, i dont see any damages to him

i got my tiger O at 3" about 3-1/2 -4 mths ago ... he is now at or near 8" ........ i do on average 2- 30% water changes weekly and mix his diet
( hikari gold / night crawlers / shrimp / silver sides / krill / bloodworm's / .... he eats 2-3 times daily (small portions-never more than he will eat at any given time) and never anything consecutively..... but i try to make sure he gets the hikari gold daily ..... as far as filtration im currently at 550gph with a 55gal tank .... his current tank mates are 3"RD 3" Green Sunfish .. so hes pretty much the "big dog" of the tank and has never had to deal with aggression from larger fish .....i dont know if this will help with your situation ... just wanted to give an example of a growth rate and what ive had to do in order achieve it ........... good luck

my guess ... filtration, water changes and tank mates ...... an 11" rd and gt is quite a load for a 55... id say those two fish alone would almost max out a 125Gal ...id try to keep the O in the 55 by himself after cycling the 125 ...... you should see some growth with good filtration and an extra water change once in awhile .........
