You should be able to. If I remember, my 55 divider would fit in a 29 gallon to a 55 gallon. So if you have 2, you'd just have to trim height off the second one for the 10.
the dividers should work for the 30 but ill have trim the top and the side for the ten gallon

Most of these Q's probably should have been asked before you bought the fish. I agree totally w/ VRWC Festae are very slow growers compared to other large aggressive cichlids. However my experiences have been that they do enjoy saftey in numbers as juvi's. It can take 6mo. for newborns to reach an inch and another 6mo. for them to reach a size where mature coloration starts. At this point the dominate male and the dom. female will grow quicker than the rest. Also at this point the aggression towards the other Festae occurs. When they do reach sexual maturity Festae will not tolerate anything less then a pairing, M+F. The pair will take 4 to 6ft. of tank space as thier territory. The pairing is not garunteed, either M or F could find a flaw in each other and kill it. So basically 4 Festae adults in one tank smaller than 300-500 gal. probably won't work. However inorder to get a pairing you do need to start with a number of juvi Festaes and sometimes go thru a few batchs.

ok so they should take about 6 months to grow to about 4 inches right??

To give you an idea of how long they can take to grow, my friends is around 7 or so inches and he's had her for about a year. He got her when she was about an inch. So in roughly 12 months she's grown nearly 6 inches give or take. It seems to be the most common thing about Festae is that they grow slow.

take they big fiish out and put them in the big tank to grow then put the big fish back in.
