Growth Rate of Salvini?

Hey guys I just got a Female Salvini and she is about 1 inch right now.

Shes in a 10 gal with a couple of platys and i just wanted to know what the typical growth rate of a female is becuase she will be going into a 29 but i want her to get bigger before she goes with the texas that is already in there. Dont worry though she wont be in there for long with the texas ill be getting a bigger tank soon i just figured that her being a female would help a little bit becuase she wont get as big.

They'll both require a tank bigger than 30 gallons. With that said, I have had salvini's and they grow pretty quickly IMO. Abouth the same as a JD from my experience. They can be very agressive, but you will be rewarded with a fish with amazing color if you feed them well.

Just lost mine last night to my powerhead! He was about 3" and I bought him this summer at around 1 1/2"

But, If the fish was in a Larger tank, The fish will grow faster.

Am I correct??

I don't think a 29 is bad, as a GO Tank, but the larger the better.

It's not the size of the tank, it's the freqency and amount of the water changes. Fish release a growth inhibiting hormone that's kind of like nature's way of keeping a fish from outgrowing it's space. The smaller the tank, the more concentrated the hormone gets and more quickly. So.......as rallysman said, "Small tanks with clean water will provide the same growth as a large tank with clean water".

Thanks everyone for the information yes i know a 29 is too small for both of them but ill hopefully upgrade in the near future!
