I have three 3" monos in my tank, if I add an azul and kelberi at the same size will any outgrow the others and eat the others?

You'll be just fine. I've had all three bass at the same time 2-3". They all grew pretty much at the same rate. It all depends on who eats more. But overall they grew to about 10-11" before I sold them.

Thanks, glad to hear it! Have definitely caught the cichla bug lol

Me too! I just got 4 monos in today. They are growing out with my ocellaris. They are all about 4 inches. I already got my ocellaris pellet trained, so I hope it makes getting the monos trained a bit easier.

My 3 monos were only eating earthworms when I got them a week ago, got them eating prawn now and they're chewing pellets and spitting them back out so hopefully won't be long until they're on pellets

Mine was spitting them out. I started shaking the bag of pellets so it associated the sound and sight, and then threw pellets in one by one to make a splash. It started taking them slowly the first time it actually ate them, and now it comes up to the top of the tank when I shake the bag and eats em right up.

Iv got 2 azuls and a temensis, all around the same size, give or take a few mm. They're all growing relatively slowly in my eyes going off what some people on here say theres grew. Iv had em since april time when they were about 4 inches. They're currently around 7/8 inches

Imo the monos will outgrow the kel and or azul....i had a mono around 4 inches added with an azul and kel around 5-6 inches.....mono is now 12 inches while kel and azul are around 10......

Shouldnt be a problem but if you want to keep them closer in size maybe get the kel or azul an inch bigger then the monos

You may need to up your water changes and/or feeding. Those bass should be growing faster, assuming they're not finicky eaters.

They're a bit strange in the way that if they eat one day, they dont eat the next day. Iv only just got them to eat massivore but they also get cichlid gold aswell as mussels and prawns.
