Ok, I have a 55 gallon tank. I'n moving everything to a 125 and I was in the middle of moving lace rock outside to toothbrush clean. My mom wanted to help so i gave her the toothbrush. She went and got a big-arse brush and sprayed the rock with lysol and started scrubbin away. :irked: After freaking out on her i have finally cooled down.:chillpill: This was my favorite piece of lace rock. Is there ANY way to save the rock. I threw it out but my mom insists of trying to fix it. any ideas to remove the wicked lysol cleaning product? or is the rock dead? with any of these ideas I was going to put the rock in a 10gallon tank and throw in a betta fish to test it before putting it in with my 50+ dollar peacock cichlids

Lesson learned: dont let fish noobs help with ANYTHING!:swear:

Yeah everythings done now, just that one nice rock is missing :P Ill power wash it and soak it and soak it again and put it in a 10g aquarium with a TON of prime and soak it some more. bout a week. you think then it would be safe. + boiling the rock before all this.

aw.

Your mom wanted to help. Dont be mad at her for messing up. That is so sweet. She just wanted to help and spend time with you.

Now she probably feels horrible for messing up your rock and making you angry at her.

Go give her a hug!!!!! and tell her its ok and you're sorry for flipping out on her!!!

Power wash then i guess boil it a lot and let sit in a tub of water for like a few weeks to months.
