A mean Texas Cichlid? This is news to me.. I own about 15 4"-7" all together in a 150 with 3 Honduran Jags, and 2 parrot fish.. Not one aggressive fish in there. Heck, my marmokreb is king of that tank!

I would say adios Oscar!

Silver Aro < Oscar (and I'm not a fan of either haha)

ok texes cichlid get 12 inches and you stuffed 15 in a 150 and jags get big females get about 14 inches and males get about 18 inches and bood parrots get about 5 inches texes cichlid are not aggressive until they are about 8-9 inches thay are nown for being wimpy juveniles but fistey adalts and the fish tank will turn into a war zone when the fish get bigger i am 99.9 percent certain

Lol! I'm far from new to this hobby. I've been on this site for quite some time. I had to make a new user name because the other account is not working. Haven't you ever heard of a grow out tank?

My jags will be moved to a 180 as soon as its done cycling as well as my carpintis. My carpintis has bred multiple times and are not even aggressive when they have a clutch. I've seen Texas cichlids upwards of almost 20 inches. I know their potential so I don't need anyone to school me on my own fish.

I have a 1500 gallon pond in my basement which I could also put them in but the pond is meant for koi so you wouldn't be able to see the cichlids as its a top view pond only.

And my fish are far from crammed in the 150. I'm not into tacky decor so they have a lot more swim space than you would think. All fish but 4 of them are under 5". And the 4 that are bigger are maybe 6".

I've got over 30 tanks... I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing.

wow i thought you where keeping them in there for life sorry you are probibly a lot better with fish than me

No, I'm waiting to get a breeding pair of my esconditos, and then the rest are getting sold.

And a 150 is a lot bigger than some people speculate when only stocking 4" fish. There is a ton of room in the tank, as the only things in it is flower pots.

Not true, I had a 4inch Texas kill an Oscar of the same size within a day or two of putting them together. He also bullied the other tankmates.

you should have removed the oscar before adding the aro. then rearrange the tank and try to reintroduce the oscar. of course he's going to go after any fish coming into "HIS" tank.

Its a delicate balance for sure nip here and there but no real fighting with the fish currently on the tank, just can't add new ones.

Did you rearange the tank first? That is a must to adding new fish. And I hope your tank is at least a 220 . And ya might even try taking that oscer out and put him in a 5gal bucket for 1/2 hour to stress him out a little. Next time you try to add a fish. On top of rearanging the tank.
