My largest clown loach that I bought yesterday jumped out of the tank! I found him on the floor covered up in dust and lint and noticed he was still alive so I dropped him in the tank. He is breathing heavily and still covered in junk. I turned out the lights to hope to ease his stress some. Anything else I should do to help?

Put him in the current of an air stone or in the current of a power head, that should help to revive him. Also get as much of the junk off as you can.

I think he is actually going to make it! He is sitting up and swimming slowly along the bottom. He had to have been out for at least 10 minutes because I woke up to a noise and right after that my phone rang. I was on the phone for awhile too and that is when I found him.

Thanks for the help.

He is doing fine. Im so realived. Here is a shot of him shedding all the gunk that had accumulated on his body as he flopped around on the floor.

Poor guy, looks like he is sheding his slim coat. When he was on the floor he most likly produced and excess amount of mucus to protect his body while he was out of the water, and that is why all of that stuff would stick to him.

Hope he pulls through alright, how big is he.
