Hes a meany

Heres my Monster fish i caught last week on 40 lb test. Hes in my 20 gal brackish at home :D

Nice, why don't you send that guy my way, I have a 75 gallon brackish he would enjoy a lot more.:D

That aligator lizard is sooo cool.

that is siiiicckk.. good job on bringing them back. You've just received my stamp of approval.

dude, that's a northern alligator lizard, not as impressive or pissy as southerns but still one of my fav's. i had a greenish female about that size give birth to 7 babies once(yes, northern alligators do give live birth, one of the few that do)

this place doesn't have an edit button :( oh well, guess that just means that my post count is going to increase more quickly. anyway just wanted to add that you did a great job rescuing those lizards and that i think you should keep the alligator lizard.

wanna give me some advise then as to how to make sure hes healthy long term. Id love to listen to any advise u give as u had one that gave birth.

the care is pretty basic. for a nice, naturalistic setup just go out to the area where you caught it and gather supplies for a viv, they love lots of low cover(like bark slabs and rocks). a 10g aquarium would sufffice but a 15g or larger would be ideal. because i found mine in the middle of a forest i used a store bought substrate made of wood peices and mixed it with potting soil. watch the moisture content of your substrate, you don't want it to get soggy or anything over slightly damp, i think mine died of respitory complecations because of this. they do like to burrow and dig under things so a couple of inches of soil is nice, just be carefull that they don't get impacted(i.e. be carefull using sand) an under tank heating pad or basking light at one end of the terrarium is nice and gives them the ability to pick what temp they want to be at, don't drop the cooler side of the tank much less than 70deg and the basking spot doesn't really need to be over 100degs. a UVB light is nice to have because they are a diurnal species.
this is a decent caresheet - http://www.anapsid.org/gerrhont.html
mine was pregnant when i found her, i'm not super familiar w/ the species because i've only kept a few. just remember to keep the food coming, they're absolute pigs. i accedentally threw in a cricket that was about twice the size of my babies head in w/ them and one still tried to eat it, i got to watch it running around the cage trying to avoid it's siblings who also wanted the cricket and swallow it at the same time  i ended up taking the cricket away and giving it to a fence lizard. they will eat anything that moves and will fit into it's mouth. mealworms and crickets are great but if you can find other things than all the better

Very cool of you dude, however i don't think there was rat poison inside the boxes because if there was they would all be dead, I think those were just traps so the guy could caught the lizards and sell them...The "rat poison" writing was probly to discourage people from touching the boxes...Good thing you did though animals that are not bred in captive struggle in captivity:drool:
