Where are your lines? All the way to the lip or the bottom of of the molding of the tank?

In a poly tank, it's best to have the water line lowered a bit. I keep mine down at least an inch to an inch and a half.

This gives them space to breach for air without hitting their faces on the lids. If they're chasing prey such as ghost shrimp, the shrimp usually get stuck to the glass gap between the lid and the water line, flicking themselves off later.

What it looks like might have happened is that the shrimp were hiding on the output bar from my Ehiem. This is right at teh surface on the back of the tank where the only gap is in the cover. I think he might have done the Orca charge and just carried him and the shrimp up and out. I am redoing the top to put some additional height to the top to prevent this from happening again.

Do not underestimate how high these fish can jump.I had a P.p.polli that would regularly jump she'd easily clear the tank by a foot and a half verticaly and a good three feet horizontaly-Anne
