GT and convict

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol aww bummer bro.

I was thinking of getting a new tank as I have a GT on order. Its called a reef octopus lux 90.. Have you heard of these before?

If you go for a new tank, I'd recommend something larger, as that tank is around 35x17x17 inches is that correct?

In that tank, you could do a single GT; but thats from a strict maintenance perspective. If you wanted to give the fish a footprint to display more natural behaviour and swimming space, I'd have a look at a longer tank, 17 width and 17 height is more than enough, but if you got say a 50 inch length, you'd have a great space to work with :)

Have you considered a custom built tank? In most cases it's cheaper than branded tanks, and you can choose your exact specifications

yeah its 37.5 x 17.5 x 17.5 inches if my calculations are right haha. I was thinking of putting in one GT and possibly two (but more than lickely one big pleco (roughly 8 in)

Do you think it would work?

I have looked for custom tanks but the only reason why I don't go for custom built tanks is because there is no one close by (within 100 miles) that does custom tanks :( and the shipping rates would be astronomical lol would be looking at about a thousand pounds just in shopping costs.

You could make it work, but I wouldn't rush in; you'd definitely in my opinion benefit the GT with a bigger tank lengthwise.

convict360 convict360 what is your opinion on a tank thats 40 length, 15 width and 22 hight for a GT? Its the only measurements on the tank that I can find to be sufficient for a GT in terms of volume :) or should I still look for a longer tank?

You could do a GT in that tank if you wanted, he'll take a couple of years to grow to a large size anyway; at which point you could upgrade if necessary
