GT bit me

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Don't feel too bad about him biting you....lol. I just had a post about my hand. I assumed that cichlids didn't bite hands. But they all came charging at my hand when I went to take out the veggie clip I had in there for the pleco. The only 2 who left my hand alone was the pleco and the pike. Even my "peaceful" severums wanted a bite lol.

i dont mind him biting lol. was sort of admiring him for taking on something way bigger than him. got guts thats for sure and it was quite funny. my concern was for how this show of force relates to his possible future behaviour to his more timid tankmates. namely my clown loaches and uaru as these are my favourite fish.
regardless of how cool and pretty a fish is they wont get away with attacking my loaches (i wont hurt them though, just to be clear, im talking rehoming).

I guess every fish is different. I have a JD in my 40g who is really timid...and then another JD in a 55g who was a jerk to everyone (aside from his best friend oscar). It's hard to say what's gonna happen. Various ppl have stories of managing to get their fish to get along, even though it goes against all odds. I guess time will tell, I do hope it all works out and that you can keep everything you have in your tank peacefully.

Lucky you have fish that bites you and still gets along with others lol. You will mind him biting you when he get 10" trust me it hurts. Especially if he gets huge psuedocanines but more not with GT's. When a Jag or Midas bites you know instantly lol.

I just got my GT now I'm kinda scared to clean the tank :s

lol. i was more shocked that he did it to be honest. but he in a good home now. he has a 4ft tank all to himself. i have invested a lot in my tank so it could be expensive if he went psycho. i miss him already, no tapping the thermometer as im typing this. thanks again.

Thats a good looking GT if its the same one in your avatar. I'd keep him regardless

Keep me in mind if you want to get rid of him though :D

Got any better pics?

it was not a curiosity nibble. i felt the first one but didnt see properly then i went near him again and he hit my hand and clamped and started shaking like a pitbull. i admit he made me jump first time lmfao.
Ouch, sounds painful. Im sorry I had to laugh when I read that post as I had a bizzare image in my mind of this 200lbs muscle bound GT complete with collar and leash.
