GT bit the dust!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Same thing happened to my GT last year when it died. It took more than a day, but it suddenly got sick while my others were fine. He was still really young though. I'm going to be buying a new one now that I'm getting a 125.

I am not sure if diet is an issue there or not. I always have a leaf of lettuce in my tank and cannot remember my GT ever eating it. Some of the others love it though.

For the price of a veggie clip ($2) I think that is some pretty good insurance against dietary issues though.

a lot of people over feed these guys to try and grow them faster dont give them feeders everyweek dont give them bio gold everyday all day dont give them worms all the time.... they need digestive support and a lot of fresh clean water... also while being kept with more aggresive fish such as convicts they tend to stress themselves... a gold saum is better kept as a pair

Hmmmm...good points that i broke 2 out of 3 bio gold every day and male con that he chased around with a fm,but water crazy about keeping clean.Next time i will keep solo and less meaty foods. He was growing rapidly 5in when he died the same gt tank at the pet store they are still 1.5 -2.5 in. this was 2 months ago.

Sorry, hope you enjoyed him

Think of it as happening for a reason, Maybe that'll help you choose another fish.

Lots if you folks have been losing them apparently...:(

That's probablly where I went wrong. Mine was getting fed Hikari's Sinking Carnivore Pellets every day, with little to no vegetable matter in between. I really wish I knew that before it happened. As we speak he's wasting away in a 10 gal quarantine. :(
