I have kept several Green Terrors in my lifetime so i know a few things about them. Your Male green terror is not as aggressive as many other ones. Don't worry though, their personality varies. I've had a 5" male Gt that killed over a 100 dollars worth of my fish( most of them bigger than it) and a beautiful 6" Male Green Terror that got punked around by 2 muchhhhh smaller female convict cichlids. They also bit his fins to the point where it completely ruined the look of the whole fish.

Your female convict is defending her eggs and stressing out the Green Terror. convicts are much quicker and faster than Green terrors so they have a good chance of nipping their fins and then swimming away very quickly. Over time, this will cause great stress for your Green Terror. (IMHO, it's the worst when a convict nips the fins off from from a beautiful fish) If you pay close attention, your Green Terror will turn dark everytime the female convict cichlid gets too close for comfort or nips at its fins. This shows that the GT is very stressed out and uncomfortable.

As for advice, get rid of your female convict cichlid. It's just going to lay eggs in your tank once every 2 to 3 weeks until you get rid of it and it's just going to stress out every fish in your tank. I'd replace it with a smaller male convict instead. actually, just ditch the convicts. They have been nothing but bad news for me.

Good luck, your gt should be taking dry food once again after its comfortable. dont forget to keep your water pristine.

thanks again Mumtron. We are thinking of giving the convict to our lfs and hope to see the GT pick himself up as he is a good looking fish when he is fit thanks again.
