I've had a hard time getting my GT to ever get comfortable in a tank because i've moved him around so much. I finally decided to set-up a 55gallon just for him and after a week in his new tank he's all settled in. Eating normally and charging the tank when i get to close. Although GT's are extremly slow growers they are well worth the wait to adulthood. I've had this guy for a year now and he's only 5".......When i purchased him he was about 2" so that gives you an idea on what i'm talking about. I think now that he's out of a community setting he will eat more and i can get some more growth out of him.

nice GT. I know I say this all the time but i really think large GT's are the best fish there is. Not only for looks but also for personality.

I keep hearing that GTs are real slow growers and yet mine has grown about 3" in the 3 months I've had him, which is far from slow. He's in a 55 with a RTBS. I guess I must just be really lucky

That is an awesome looking Gt rec. I have a nice looking female, but she is at the bottom of the pecking order in my tank, and I might have to get rid of her. But I definitely want to start over with a bunch of juvies, and get a breeding pair, I think that would be awesome.
