Folks, this is a sale thread so, don't derail it. BTW, whatever happened to benefit of the doubt until all the facts are in?
Well, Jhutch here knew very well on the status of wild caught Zebra plecos not so long ago from another Vendor, so there is no doubt he knows very well about the status of Leopoldi ray ;)

I wasn't aware they were banned. They are banned from export from Brazil(I just looked) but last year he got his from Peru. I don't know where they came from and didn't know they were only in Brazil. He had 100 available. Don't know, don't care. They came from Peru and that's all I know.

Wouldnt be the first time a suppier lied...........

While I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt.. I'd hate to have someone prepay $2500.00 to have their fish seized by customs.

As far as bringing them from asia I believe they're more expensive there than here in the U.S.??

All the leos I have seen for sale in Asia are more expensive. My supplier is not a liar and has been in the aquatic community for a very long time. He is very good friends of Leif DeMason of OldWorld and was a long time friend of Stuart Grants. If he says he imported Leos last year I believe him. When he tells me it is almost Leo season and said they will be available I believe him. I am not a stingray fanatic so I know very little about them other than what species are rare.

As far as my knowledge of plecos I was an avid pleco collector for a number of years before I got heavy into african/central american/south american cichlids. So I am very familiar with what plecos are banned.

Hey, I'll take 100 pcs.. Let me know when you have pix.. make sure your Importer is holding up a sign that states the date the photo was taken.

They aren't imported from brazil is what makes it different. The other difference is I pay attention to the posts and respond. If they are imported I don't know where from but they will be available. They were last year and will be this year. The supplier in Peru may have gotten them before the ban from Brazil anyway. Lots of possibilities. Maybe they can be found in Peru I don't know anything about stingrays like I said previously.
