Guess the fish game:

Earlier this week, I went fishing and saw what I thought to be some trash made of black plastic. I approached it to get a better look and it would sink each time I got near. It made sense that it wasn't trash in the water so I approached the next one really fast. Fins and water went everywhere. I later learned that what was sticking up out of the water was the fish's noses. Below is a picture of what they look like.

I'll keep posting clues until someone figures it out.

Here is the first clue (not counting the ones in the first post):

The fish were not biting all morning, but I caught three.

I was thinking that the above picture would expand when you click on it, but instead, it shrinks.

I found a better picture, but this one might give it away...

Also, keep in mind that this is in fresh water (St. Johns River north of Orlando). That's another clue because you can find lists of native and invasive species for Florida in the stickies.

Good guess, but no. These fish huddle together vertically when they stick their noses out of the water.

There were over 200 of these fish around me. Fishing rods proved fruitless; I caught the three by noodling (bare hands).
