Today at lunch time, I decide to go there to test my water. While waiting to get my water tested, i saw this nice flowerhorn for sale for 29.00 dollar. This is at leesburg virginia. Didn't know petsmart carry such nice flowerhorns.

I had one - they start out looking nice, then they lose color and what they DON'T tell you at Petsmart, is that they are Short-body FHs
I would agree that's a nice find, sometimes you find treasures in lousy box stores. I first started in the hobby shopping at a local petco and bought my first cichlid which was a severum there. One of the best fish I ever owned in terms of personality and actually turned out to be one of the nicest green severums I've seen. I bred him twice before he passed away but for me hands down one of the best investments I made. Years of enjoyment that fish gave me. Although what frank is saying can be highly likely I'd still take a chance on the fish. Seems to have enough potential to me to give it a shot.
I went into pet smart yesterday and saw the prettiest baby Jack Dempsey that was about 1cm long. If I had another tank I definitely would have snagged him up. If you have the space you should definitely take him before some 7 year old gets him. It's so rare to see a good colored up fish in petsmart he looks like a potential beast!

Why is the hump such an attractive feature? I've never understood why people like fish the look like they have a giant tumor growing out of their forehead. Maybe it's just me...
Different strokes for different folks is all. I believe they're symbols of luck so maybe the bigger the kok the more luck it will bring you? I totally pulled that out of my arse.
