Guess what kind of Reptile

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it is a ctenosaur, but a ctenosaur is actually a far cry from an iguana, despite any similarity.
An iguana is an arboreal lizard, while ctenosaurs are throwbacks to when dinosaurs roamed the earth, when they were much, much larger (if you think they can bite now....)
So, i guess its guppy, cause he said ctenosaur, but its not an iguana. So, i'll let him decide who can have it.

Well according to the EMBL reptile database that genus is part of the Iguanidae family and the common name is spineytail iguana (even if it is technically incorrect). Here are the genera (cut and paste) in the Iguanidae family.

List of Genera (fide Frost and Etheridge, 1989)

Amblyrhynchus
Brachylophus
Conolophus
Ctenosaura
Cyclura
Dipsosaurus
Iguana
Sauromalus

The family also contains three fossil genera, Armandisaurus , Lapitiguana, and Pumila.
