Guess what kind of Reptile

Fox snake Elaphe vulpina, or some relative of it as I don't balieve they inhabit the area were that picture was taken. Most likely it is a corn snake Elaphe guttata guttata.

It might be a gopher...but now that I've looked at the picture more closely, it looks a lot like an Eastern hognose. From the angle, it's hard to tell if the nose is pointed, but its pattern is very hognose-like and it kind of looks like the position of the eyes is as well.

okay nevermind....I looked again and it's too slender to be a hognose, even a baby.

somebody do something! this thread is dying!

Okay, this thread seems to have died. Here is something to try and revive it. A hint is that it is from Costa Rica.

hah! costa rica is my lifeblood! that is Norops aquaticus, the water or stream anole
although, because the name anole comes from the two common north american lizards Anolis carolinensis (the most well known green anole) and the introduced cuban or brown anole, Anolis sagrei, we should creaaly stick to the tradition of using the genus and refer to the costa rican anoles as Noropses instead.

You got it Visciouscovict, and you are right on the genus naming as well, it is currently under consideration as to if it should be renamed as a Noropses.
Post one up please.
