  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
got me scratching my head, this is definitely RARE, I have to get my hands on some. Thanks to my "master", my live reference book,

Sinocyclocheilus hyalinus....wow!!!! Found in caves in Yunnan province China, guess where I'm heading to for my next collection :)

Correction, this one is sinocyclocheilus anatirostris, is this the one found in Thailand? I will not post another one up tonight, so GUPPY, continue to bring it on! You've impressed me time and time again!

You got it, the S. anatirostris.
Glad you like it, it is a real oddball from Guanxi, China and is a dweller in underground rivers and caves. I found the pictures some time ago but forgot to write down the site, some rare fish show (it was their poster fish). They had it listed as a Golden Cave Dragon. I was really suprised to find out it was a cyprinid.

Here is your next one, this gets just over 10".

It is an anabantoid but..., not ctenopoma species.
I won't say where it is from because that narrows it down to much, you will see what I mean when you find it, heheh. Ah what the hell, OldWorld.

Heheh, almost. It is the other one, the Sandelia bainsii, common name Eastern Cape Rocky from upland streams in South Africa. It is a little more enlongate than the capensis. That pic is by Foersch, he has a lot of photos on fishbase.
I will find another fish.

This is a livebearer that maxes out at about 8"

Right group of fishes, this is one of the very few that occassionally lives in full fresh water, brackish and salt are far more common.
